Gachi Studio ("we", "us", or "our") operates gachistudio.com (the "Site"). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

a) Information you provide voluntarily

When you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. Newsletter sign-up is not currently offered on the public site.

b) Automatically collected information

Our pages load Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and interactions. Depending on your browser settings and the service configuration, Google may process page URLs, referrers, device and browser information, and usage events. Analytics cookies may be used to distinguish visits. This measurement is separate from your exercise answers.

c) Log data

The Site is delivered through Netlify. When your browser requests a page, image or audio file, hosting and delivery providers receive technical request information such as your IP address and the requested URL. They may process logs for delivery, security and troubleshooting. A hosting request log does not by itself measure how long you read a page.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve our Site and content
• Handle questions about our lessons, tools and learning materials
• Respond to your comments and questions
• Monitor and analyse usage and trends to improve user experience
• If advertising is enabled, display ads subject to applicable privacy choices
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies and local storage are different browser storage mechanisms. The public lessons do not require a learner account or a login session.

You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Clearing local storage resets saved tool preferences. Blocking third-party services can affect analytics or embedded video playback; ordinary text lessons remain available.

Typing answers and scores are processed in your browser and are not submitted to our server by the typing tool. Our practice tools do not request microphone access or record your voice. Some audio buttons play files hosted on this Site; others may use your browser or operating system's speech service. Depending on that service, speech generation may use a network connection and the provider's own data practices.

What the current implementation uses:

• Tool preference storage — the stroke-order tool saves your Auto-listen choice in local storage under gachi-stroke-auto-listen-v2. Change the choice in the tool or clear site data in your browser.
• Analytics cookies — Google Analytics may use cookies such as _ga to measure visits. Read Google’s data collection explanation and Analytics opt-out options. An Analytics opt-out does not control YouTube or other services.
• Advertising cookies — may be used if advertising is enabled, as described below

4. Google AdSense and Third-Party Advertising

We may use Google AdSense to display advertisements. If Google ads are enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Where an advertising consent message is presented, use its controls to manage your choices. This policy describes advertising data use if ads are enabled; it does not mean that advertising is currently active.

5. Embedded YouTube Videos

Our Site embeds videos from YouTube (owned by Google LLC). When you view embedded YouTube videos, YouTube may collect data about your interaction with the video, including your IP address and browsing behaviour, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode where possible to minimise data collection.

6. Third-Party Links

Our Site links to services such as Etsy and YouTube. Purchases and payment details are handled on Etsy, not through a checkout on this Site. Review each service’s privacy policy before using it.

7. Data Retention

We keep email correspondence as needed to handle your request and any related obligations. You can ask us to delete correspondence we control, subject to applicable obligations. Browser preferences remain until you change them or clear site storage. Analytics and hosting records are governed by the relevant service settings and retention rules; we do not promise one retention period for all these systems.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete such information from our records.

9. Your Rights
